Clearly, she's not your tribe. I'm glad you toss the unwanted gifts rather than drowning in them - that's a lesson it took me a long time to learn. I think most of us have people in our lives who are on different wavelengths (different planets it sometimes seems) and there can be all sorts of reasons they're good to have in our lives - at the right distance. As you say, even a lone wolf needs a friend.
