Good luck with the Whole30. I think it's a really good idea to do something like that every now and then. Not that I've ever been that ambitious but I occasionally do a weekend of cutting out a load of stuff and giving my body a break. It always feels better afterwards - the first time I did it, I ended up eliminating added sugar from my diet forever (so far so good anyway but it's been a few decades).
