I had a cold that I'd caught from my daughter-in-law (I'd done the school run with her the previous week) so when I tested positive I assumed it had been covid all along - except she had already tested negative and their family remained negative throughout, so that bit actually was a cold. I was over the worst of that when covid struck, which left my husband with the cold and covid. The only symptom we can say for sure was covid was the tiredness that we both had - we basically slept for a week (and are lucky we were able to). We hope that our vaccination status will have staved off long-term damage - can't be sure, but we're optimistic.
