I hadn't heard that particular one, but I know that cruise ships generally are bad news for the environment so I'm not surprised. I reviewed a book on here (a year or more ago. Storm Girl - Nicklin) that made a chilling fiction tale about where things are heading. Your comment reminded me as it had a lot to say about things going on at sea, and also had a references section which made it even more chilling.
