I heard about this case in the 90s - I even wrote a book that referenced it, but couldn't find a publisher to take it back then. When I got a publisher interested 10 years later complications happened and it never did see the light of day, but I'd been thinking about it recently and wondering about resurrecting it as the 2022 book. The truly awful thing is that Marilyn Mulero was only released in 2020. I believe there are huge numbers of innocent people incarcerated and many more who shouldn't be behind bars anyway.
Thank heavens for people like Justin Brooks - there aren't anywhere near enough of them, even though anyone working in the legal system or law enforcement should share their values.
