I'd love to think you were right, but history strongly suggests you're not. Any display of defiance will be summarily dealt with and people will fall in line, as per how it went in Nazi Germany, which is the playbook that is being followed here. The lone heroes/heroines who stand out for justice and win are rare as hen's teeth outside Hollywood films.
