I’m glad you’ve found your local society. It certainly is a global movement and is campaigning to spread further. But yes, things vary in detail from country to country but it’s good to know that these organisations exist to look after writers’ interests. As writers, we generate an enormous amount to the world economy but it is hard to campaign as individual writers.
