I’m not 100% certain but I think this is a debut novel but — as with Mary Brown — from someone with quite a list of writing credits to her name. It was really unusual and kept me gripped the whole way. I have an idea that Marie Gameson has an interesting backstory but I can’t remember what it is that I read about that.
