I've heard of this type of initiative going way back. The results are always impressive but somehow they never get official backing, and governments push for schools to be hidebound by rules and regs. I genuinely wonder if there's a class of politician (too often in charge) who is horrified at the thought of a properly educated population. Are certain aspects of education run down deliberately to keep people vulnerable to spin, so that votes are ore easily gathered in? Just look what's happening in the US right now, the result of decades of anti-science and pseudo-science being allowed in schools. Those behind the conspiracy theories can manipulate people how they want. I enjoyed the article.
