I've worked at all levels in big organisations, plus spending several years as a Trade Union officer. Things that particularly chimed with me when reading this: every workplace could do with a Pam to make it run smoothly; most Pams are either resented or under-appreciated; outfits managed by a Herlocker are the ones that run best and where people are happiest; far too many people are shoved into management roles with no clue as to how to manage.

And heaven help the Jones of this world when this new administration gets going.
