Not that I've done a deep dive into the available data on this, but I would guess the vast majority of people do respect nature (though that would cover a myriad of different ways). The exception seems to be the minority group who hold the genuine reins of power in today's world, where there is possibly a majority but could be just a very vocal minority who really couldn't give a toss.
