Oh dear. This made me smile but it also made me cringe - partly that I've been there and can hear that constant underlying beat that doesn't need to be loud (but usually is) to be a constant assault on the senses; and partly that I've arrived here via a story that says it wasn't as temporary as you needed it to be. Here's hoping life/fate/whatever will bring relief in some form very soon.
