So sad to think there are people in power genuinely working to see this happen.

Equally sadly, history tells us that unless people pay attention, they can be persuaded to get used to anything at all. If things are made to happen gradually, people fall into dangerous lines of thought such as "It's not really right but it could be worse, and it's not affecting me personally. Yet. So I'll keep quiet for now."

I wish we could have learnt lessons from history, but if history shows anything, it's that we never learn.
