So true - all part of life and of living.

I was always in the 'seatbelts at all times' brigade, having known someone who got a nasty head injury from being thrown upwards the way you describe. I hold onto the fact that the tin cans we fly in are engineered to withstand way harsher turbulence than they're ever likely to meet, it's just us soft-shelled beings who can't take being flung about untethered inside the tin can.
