Such a sad question to have to ask yourself, Dennett. I don't suppose anyone knows the answer. Is it a case of getting used to or learning to live alongside...?

I hadn't thought about it before, but I'm surprised to learn there was no autopsy given that it was a sudden death outside hospital. I would have expected the circumstances to make an autopsy automatic. You're right of course, it's better to know, even though it doesn't alter the outcome.
