Ten Quick Questions To Round Up 2022

The Caped Crusader makes a tempting offer to writers who participate.

Here’s the question that springs to my mind in relation to this — does the person who tempted me into this challenge deserve thanks or curses? This wasn’t on my schedule for today, I have swerved away from other tasks to write this. I’ve recently resisted any number of writing challenges but somehow I couldn’t quite resist this one.

Ah well, it’s no one’s fault but my own, but in my defence, I present the article that I enjoyed so much, and that made the invitation to join in so irresistible. Thank you, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles

Here is my take on the 10 questions:

1. Favourite drink?

That’s such a difficult one. It’s totally dependent on the time of day, the season, what’s going on around me, who I’m with, what mood I’m in, and all manner of other stuff. Often it’s coffee. Probably more often, it’s tea. Sometimes, there’s nothing to beat cool clear water.

If it’s a wine or beer context then it’s light if it’s wine and heavy if it’s beer.

What it is not is cola in any shape or form, I can’t abide the stuff. I’m not keen on any fizzy drink though I will make an exception for champagne.

2. Favourite colour?

Green. Why green?

Ever since I was small, when asked for a favourite colour, I have always said, Green. It seems less trouble to stick with that than to take the time to work out if it really is my favourite colour. After all, I like green stuff — grass, leaves, etc.

On the other hand, I don’t tend to wear green. The uniform at my secondary school was green and that put me off green attire. I was sanctioned once for wearing a blue hat with my green uniform. That’s a different story.

The only green thing in my office (I just checked) is the box of a St John’s Ambulance blood pressure monitor. I don’t know what, if any, deeper meaning…
