That was an interesting take on the topic. I hadn't really thought about it from a pronoun-sharing point of view before. I retired from my main day job before it had become a thing. Like you, I totally get why people share pronouns and given the way that trans and non-binary people have been turned into political footballs in recent years, I feel happy to share pronouns when asked, and I hate to see cisgender people unthinkingly repeating the sorts of mocking tropes that get wheeled out when pronouns are mentioned. But I agree, ideally it should be optional and also no big deal.
