They sniff the mask that someone has been wearing. They can do loads very quickly, but they sit if they detect a positive one. Only pilot studies so far, but very useful results. They have found positives amongst the airport staff, who were then sent home to isolate, hopefully avoiding passing on the virus to colleagues.
