This was fascinating, thanks. I long ago gave up putting in notebooks what people said *should* be in there, but I've had a lifelong love affair with notebooks. I have cupboards full of them - mostly half used. I've stopped buying new (saving trees) and now scribble on the blank pages in the half used ones.
