Totally agree about Charlotte - very clear-sighted and not only found herself a good position in life, she showed herself able to manipulate the stupid Mr Collins in order to make life as comfortable as possible for herself. I always felt that Mrs Bennett was unjustly judged for her attempts to marry her daughters off to anyone - at least she was trying to find a route for them to dodge destitution after their father was gone.
