You're an inspiration, Mary. I was that same 10 year old. I too learnt to love swimming when older but haven't gone as far as you. I have always loved swimming in the sea. Until a few years ago, I had never missed a year when I didn't swim in the sea at least once, but sadly we have now lost our clean water regulations and the water companies are filling our seas with sewage - people are getting ill and I don't want to be one of them. I stick to swimming pools these days.
